This RSPB nature reserve offers a haven for wildlife on the edge of the city. Breeding Avocets may be the star attraction but the Cetti's Warblers and Bearded Tits might have a word to say about that as they make a song and dance in the reedbeds. Look out for the colourful Shovelers and other waterbirds also. Newport Wetlands is a great place for people too, with a visitor centre, café, shop and children's play area. Whenever you visit, you'll enjoy spectacular views of the Severn Estuary all year round.
