The symbol of Wales, the wild Daffodil flowers in abundance at The Wildlife Trusts Coed y Bwl nature reserve, an ancient Ash woodland. The woodland is best known for its large population of wild Daffodils and other spring flowers, such as Bluebells and Wood Anemones. The wild Daffodils dominate the southern part of the reserve in early spring together with Wood Anemones, whilst on the northern slopes Bluebells predominate. The wood supports a range of woodland birds including Woodpeckers, Hawks, Owls and summer migrants including Willow Warblers and Blackcaps.
