The Wildlife Trusts Pentwyn Farm has survived virtually unchanged for centuries. It includes one of the largest areas of wildflower rich grasslands remaining in Gwent. It is alive with butterflies and abuzz with insects moving from flower to flower in this wildflower haven. A visit to the reserve in spring presents a colourful display of wildflowers such as cowslips and early-purple orchids. By late spring, thousands of spikes of green-winged orchids start to appear in the meadows. The reserve commands stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
